The Grand: Seaside Guest Rooms / Brighton

The brief sought to create an opportunity for a memorable “instagram-able” experience, prompting a unique response and representing The Grand’s rich history, whilst retaining the beautiful architectural qualities.

To this end, the scheme design, rather than shying away from the seaside connection, was based upon beach huts and all that reminds you of being by the seaside. The bold striped pattern is complimented by period detailing such as mouldings, picture rails and cornicing to provide that additional feeling of grandeur, whilst also providing more structure and rhythm to the internal elevations of the rooms. Bring the seaside into the hotel and “press for ice cream”.
