Butlers Yard / Peppard Common / Oxfordshire

Residential Architecture
Housing

At Anderson + Prescott, we’ve designed a considered and contemporary residential scheme for Butlers Yard in Peppard Common, Henley-on-Thames. Our proposal seeks to transform a redundant garage and pet store site into a high-quality, design-led development of nine new homes.

The scheme includes a mix of 4-bedroom detached houses, 3-bedroom semi-detached houses, and 2-bedroom apartments, all designed to reflect the local architectural vernacular while introducing refined contemporary detailing. Our layout prioritises spaciousness, sustainability, and a positive relationship with the surrounding context.

Key design drivers include low-carbon energy strategies such as air source heat pumps and solar PV, enhanced biodiversity through soft landscaping and permeable surfaces, and improved access through carefully planned vehicular and pedestrian routes. All homes meet nationally described space standards, with accessible layouts and integrated EV charging.

This project exemplifies our approach: creating architecture that is contextually responsive, environmentally responsible, and delivers long-term value for both our client and the wider community.
