Anderson + Prescott share new riverside home proposals in Henley-On-Thames, Berkshire
RIVERSIDE VIEW OF NEW PROPOSAL
Anderson + Prescott are excited to share our latest submission, a thoughtful transformation of a mid-century riverside home in Henley-on-Thames.
The design draws inspiration from the riverside setting itself, the simple, clean-lined forms of marine architecture and boat design, interpreted through a modern and refined architectural language. The external appearance is defined by a composition of crisp interlocking geometric volumes, creating a sculptural form with a striking first-floor addition.
Light grey and white render finishes reflect the soft, muted tones and light qualities typical of riverside character, ensuring the building sits confidently but unobtrusively within its mature, landscaped plot. Glazing is carefully positioned to maximise views and frame key river vistas, with a focus on bringing the outside in and providing meaningful connections to the River Thames.
The proposal seeks to sensitively adapt and re-imagine the existing property, re-using the current structure and original footprint, while significantly enhancing spatial quality, energy performance, and architectural character.
